The following information helps you to choose the right ticket.
Which ticket is the right one for you?
- One journey a day: Single ticket / short range
The single ticket is the standard ticket. Short range tickets are a better choice for very short distances or in case you change from one fare area into another. - More than one journey a day: Day ticket
As many journeys in one validity-area as you like (= mobility for an entire day). Or, for more than one person: - Families or mini-groups: Day tickets for groups
Up to five people travel for a good value within one fare area. - Multitravellers: Weekly season tickets/ Monthly season tickets
SubscriptionsTime-period tickets offer plenty advantages:
- More than six journeys per week: Weekly season ticket.
- More than twenty journeys per month: Monthly season ticket.
- Cheaper if you take a dozen, i.e. you travel 12 month but pay only for 10: Subscription (for more details please call our customer service).
The tickets in further detail
Short range ticket
Is only available as single ticket without reductions over short distances (for instance to cross the fare stage or to travel up to 3 station-distances as well as for the city-areas of Guestrow and Buetzow). Other prices are valid for the "S-Bahn" and the regional traffic.

Single ticket
The price of this standard ticket depends on the number of fare stages you cross. In some cases other tickets are cheaper (see for instance: Short range ticket and Day ticket).

Day ticket
Allows you travel as much as you want to travel on one single day (until 3 a.m. the following day). Before all it is suitable for tourists and for people who want to be mobile a whole day long. A reduced version is available, too.

Day ticket for groups
Up to five people travel for a good value within the area of validity.

Weekly season ticket
Valid from monday (0 a.m.) until sunday (midnight) for one special person. This is why you need a customer's ticket (which you get for free at the Service- and Sales offices of all members of the transport system) with your personal data on it. The ticket for the special week you get for instance at the ticket machines. A reduced version is available, too -> validity refers to the calender week, i.e Monday 0 a.m. until Sun. 0 p.m.

Monthly season ticket
Valid flexible from a first day of your choice until the day before in the next month, valid for one special person. A reduced version is available, too, as well as a 9-o-clock-monthly season ticket for 3 fare stages.

Monthly season ticket plus
Additional to the achievements of the monthly season ticket:- Within the area of Rostock you can carry a bicycle with you
- transferable, in general (reduced tickets only to people authorized to travel on reduced prices)
- allows you (reduced fares excluded) Mo-Fr from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. to travel together with one adult and two children or three children

Monthly season ticket reduced+Bike
Additional to the achievements of the reduced monthly season ticket you can carry a bicycle with you

9-0-clock-Monthly season ticket plus
Identical features like the Monthly season ticket plus, but you can use this ticket to travel form 9-O-Clock in the morning to 3-O-Clock of the following day (for three fare stages max.). At weekends and holiday the whole day.

Monthly season ticket-subscription
People who decided to buy their monthly season tickets by subscription save 20%, which means that they pay for 10 month but travel a year.

Further rates
- Pets: single ticket, reduced
- Bicycle: single ticket, reduced (with a monthly season ticket for the entire area of Rostock: free of charge)
- Children until the age of 6: free of charge
- Disabled persons: free of charge (following the law for seriously handicapped persons)
- Small baggage: free of charge
- Small dogs: free of charge
- First class German rail for the region: supplement required

Special offers
Pupil's ticket
This ticket is valid during the entire school year, 24 hours a day, at all days of the week and in all means of public transport of the City of Rostock. One bicycle can be carried with free of charge. There are no restrictions regarding the validity of the tickets. It can be bought by pupils of all schools in Rostock (including schools and colleges for applied sciences).
Pupils: Holiday ticket M-V for pupils
Sommer holiday in motion: for 25,- EUR (2007) through entire Mecklenburg-Pommerania.
Students: Semester ticket
Following an agreement with the University of Rostock as well as with the "Hochschule fuer Musik und Theater Rostock" students travel with a valid students authorization as their ticket.
Combiners
In accordance with an agreement with the transport system special tickets and authorizations can be used as bus-, tram- or train-tickets. Further information you also get from the responsible institutions.
- Soccer ticket: FC Hansa Rostock (ticket for the game = ticket for the entire area of Rostock)
- Hotel ticket: InterCityHotel Rostock (Room card = ticket for the entire area of Rostock)
- Theatre ticket: Volkstheater Rostock (ticket = ticket for the entire area of Rostock)
- ParkTicket: agency "Rostock-Tourismus" and the tourist agency of Warnemuende (parking ticket = ticket for L36/L37)
